Shopping handmade in Texas — FAQ

Start in town: NorthStar Pottery and White Lotus Pottery both make stoneware by hand right here in Bryan–College Station, and Hill Country Pottery in Comfort fires dinnerware from local Texas clay. Every potter in this guide sells in person or through their own shop, linked on their card.

Tekton Timber Co. in College Station — an Aggie-owned sawmill and timber shop — builds custom live-edge tables, fireplace mantels, box beams, and countertops from Texas wood. Clint Walker Woodworking (also College Station) and Shockwave Woodworks (College Station) makes custom slab furniture, cutting boards, and commissioned pieces.

Wimberley Glassworks in Wimberley is a working glassblowing studio — hand-blown glass lighting, vases, bowls, and glass art, with artists blowing glass in the studio most days. Their card above links straight to their shop.

This whole guide is a gift map: hand-poured soy candles from Canyon Candle Co., hand-thrown mugs and bowls, Texas A&M inlay cutting boards, vintage-quilt pieces, and one-of-a-kind antiques — all made by independent Texas makers, most within a short drive of Aggieland.

Round Top Antiques Week runs each spring and fall (fall 2026: roughly Oct 15–Nov 1, with individual venue dates varying) across Round Top, Warrenton, Carmine, and Burton. Expect antique furniture, European antiques, vintage and western décor, textiles, and makers and dealers from all over Texas — several in this guide show there.

Yes — that's the point of the guide. We design rooms around real, locally made pieces: a live-edge dining table, hand-thrown pottery on open shelves, blown-glass lighting. Tell us about your project on the estimate page and we'll help you pull it together.
